This itinerary offers a rich blend of temple exploration and village life, enhanced by engaging storytelling. Designed to reveal the connection between ancient Khmer culture and modern life in Siem Reap, our tour guides you through stunning temples, sharing insights into Khmer history and enduring traditions. In the evening, you’ll immerse yourself in a local village, meeting a welcoming family and learning about their customs. You’ll also visit a Buddhist monastery to gain insights into monastic life and Cambodian culture. Join us for a journey that celebrates the beauty and depth of Cambodia’s rich heritage!
Start your day by watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat, one of the most amazing sights you'll ever see. As the sun comes up behind the temple, the sky lights up with beautiful colors, reflecting on the water. It’s a peaceful and magical moment, perfect for capturing great photos and enjoying the quiet beauty of Angkor Wat. After sunrise, we will start our angkor wat tour.
Angkor Wat Tour : Our tour begins with the largest and most famous temple, Angkor Wat. Learn from our knowledgeable and passionate guides about the history as we walk along the walls full of carvings that tell the stories of the Angkor period. We will spend approximately 1.5 hours here.
Known as the “jungle temple,” Ta Prohm is famous for its giant trees and roots that have grown over the ancient stone walls, creating an incredible mix of nature and history. As you explore, you’ll feel like you’ve discovered a hidden world, with huge tree roots wrapping around the temple like something out of a fantasy. It will take around 1.5 hours to explore the temple.
After Ta Prohm, it is our lunch time, we will spend around 1 hour for lunch at a local family house who live in the Angkor archaeological park. Having lunch with a local Khmer family after visiting temples is a wonderful experience because it allows you to connect with the culture on a personal level.
Tha Nei Temple is a small, peaceful temple known for its serene atmosphere and beautiful ancient ruins. Here we will let you have your own time to fully immerse yourself in nature and the ancient ruins before hearing the story of it from our guide. You will have 15 minutes of your own time here.
While traveling to Angkor thom, we will enter by the four faced gate, called Victory gate. We will have a short walk to The Victory Gate of Angkor Thom. This sacred stone entrance is adorned with intricate carvings and imposing structures. It symbolizes power. The best place to witness while hearing about the ancient royal of Angkor. This will be just a short stop and will take around 20 minutes.
Bayon is famous for its mesmerizing stone-carved faces, which are believed to represent either the king himself or the bodhisattva of compassion in Mahayana Buddhism. As you wander around the temple you will feel that there are faces that keep looking at you and smile at you, creating a powerful sense of connection to the past. But there's more! Bayon isn’t just about the faces but the bas-reliefs that stretch across the temple’s walls, depicting scenes from Khmer daily life, historic battles, and spiritual stories. We will spend around 1 hour visiting the Bayon temple.
We will travel by tuk tuk through villages, enjoying the serene rural landscape. We will visit a farmer family who allows us to visit home and learn about their family. The family will welcome us with coconuts and snacks that they make. What we are going to do here is that we will have a tour around their gardens to learn about the different plants that are grown by the family. Afterward, we will have time to sit down with the family and listen to their story. We will spend around 1 hour here.
After visiting the pagoda, we will head to Phnom Krom village to meet a family who makes a living by weaving bags that are made of water lilies. We will visit their small shop, where a mother and daughter create colorful, decorated bags by hand. We will spend about 30 minutes there, watching them work, learning about the weaving process and materials, and hearing from your guide how this family sustains their business and livelihood.
We’ll wrap up the day at our favorite spot, a lotus farm, to watch the sunset. This stop will take around 20 minutes. You will enjoy the peaceful, stunning views as the sun sets over the Cambodian landscape.
We will end our day with dinner at a local restaurant near a lotus farm, a popular spot for its sunset views and picnic. We will try local dishes and experience family style dinner. This dinner will take approximately 1 hour.
